Unlike the times in the 50s and 60s, many young adults live with their families until their mid or late 20s. The expense of having a place of one's own takes a big chunk out of fun money. Each choice leads to a list of other choices. YIKES! Consequences come fast and furious. Leaving home to re-create a home of one's own is an opportunity for ritual that is often overlooked. Many people believe that we could deepen the process of relationships by expanding how we relate to others beyond the original family of origin. My belief and experience is that people are hungry to become part of a larger community even after the experimental teens. At The LifeWorks Institute we find creative and alternative ways for young adults to discover more about who they are and what they want in their lives.
